Ribbeck, Germany
Ribbeck is a meteorite that fell on January 21, 2024 in a small town west of Berlin. It was initially an asteroid named 2024 BX1 and was tracked just hours before impact, leading to the quick recovery of numerous fragments. After seeing these freshly crusted stones appearing on social media, I knew this one was going to be a rare type. The white and translucent crust was a gaurentee that this one is worth traveling for. I quickly booked a plane ticket and packed my bag.
